Another quick post to share a piece of Valentine craft with you. This year I decided to make my lovely wife a gift instead of buying pre-made things. Rather than my lack of money being a limiting factor, my lack of talent would be instead!
Some quick pieces I want to share with you… I was tasked with producing some labels at short notice. Well, ink and watercolour aren’t my preferred medium: watercolour is fiddly and lacks the ‘undo’ function that computer based work has accustomed me to.
As usual UnArt celebrated Christmas and the New Year by slacking off with our –already infrequent– blogging. What with gifts to prepare, food to cook, decorations to hang and toys to play with, crafty matters kind of took a back seat – with a couple of exceptions, one of which I want to share today.
We’ve had a couple of people ask if our Christmas cards were available to view online. Well, most of them are the same as last year. This year’s new card, however, has only appeared on this blog in work-in-progress form…
As you know, it’s Inspiration Month here at UnArt. But it’s also ‘last chance to get away’ month, which Misha and I celebrated with a short budget break to the city of Barcelona. There’s nothing like getting away from one’s normal environs to get creativity flowing, so I’d like to talk about three things I learned in Barcelona.
It’s inspiration month here at UnArt, and I want to talk about colour. It almost seems to be cheating to talk about colour as an inspiration; there probably aren’t many artists or illustrators who don’t find colour inspiring. It would be like a writer not liking verbs…
