Hello again. In my last Inspiration Month post I talked rambled about the inspiring nature of colour. What I didn’t do is mention one source of colour inspiration: Colourlovers.com.
In their own words: “COLOURlovers is a creative community where people from around the world create and share colours, palettes and patterns, discuss the latest trends and explore colourful articles”.
It sounds a bit strange, maybe, but it’s basically a social network based around colours and patterns. So if you look at my profile (‘ZenBen’) you’ll see that I’ve created a couple of patterns, a palette (below) and named some colours. Named colours? Well, a cool feature is that if you’re the first user to use a particular colour in a palette or pattern then you get to name it. Check out Rich Tea (right)
If you’re lacking in inspiration, looking at the latest colours or palettes might spark a new idea. They also have a useful feature that looks at colour trends across various areas. So if you love colour, why not give it a look?
