I know, I know, it’s not even Halloween! You don’t want to be thinking about you-know-what yet.

But here at Unruley Articles, we need to think about it: we can’t wait until ’tis the season to be jolly to get our stuff set-up for Christmas. Christmas cards won’t make themselves, you know.

So, if you can bear to think about the season of goodwill a little early, read on…

This year we’ve got a few different types of card available on Etsy — I’d like to tell you about them.

Christmas Under The Sea

Say you’re a cheerful young octopus, and you’re keen to celebrate a traditional Christmas. But there are no pine trees under the sea! What can our resourceful cephalopod do?

Well, thats the question these Christmas cards answer.

This may seem purely whimsical,  but was actually inspired by real life. The mimic octopus can imitate sea snakes, lionfish, flatfish, brittle stars, giant crabs, sea shells, stingrays, flounders, jellyfish, sea anemones, and mantis shrimp. (There are several videos on YouTube showing them)

Now, as yet, no-one has spotted them imitating Christmas trees, and particularly not getting starfish and seahorses to help them out, but I reckon it’s purely a matter of time!

The Truth About Santa Claus

Ever wondered how Mr Claus manages to get down all those narrow chimneys? Or how he can carry so many presents?

Well, this card reveals the answer! As with many of the answers to life’s mysteries, the answer involves tentacles.

Lino-printed Snowflake Cards

Maybe the above cards are too colourful and silly for your liking? For something a little more elegant, look to these Snowflake cards. Following on from my adventures in lino-printing I made these, going for a simple and stylised design in pearlescent ink.
